Risk factors

  • Symptoms of heart disease like chest pain, breathlessness, sweating, selling over feet, fatigue, syncope etc.
  • Patient having long standing blood pressure & diabetes.
  • High cholesterol found in routine blood test.
  • Family history of heart disease
  • Addiction like smoking, tobacco chewing, alcohol etc.
  • Sedentary life style, lack of exercise, Type A personality etc.

Diagnosis
Diagnosing heart disease before having major heart attack is very important & challenging. Patient must not ignore minor signs of heart disease. Once patient noticed warning signs he must visit cardiologist before it’s too late…

  • Physical examination
     In person meeting with doctor helps in proper diagnosis of problem, understanding patient mindset towards disease
  • ECG
     12 lead computerized ECG will help in diagnosis of early changes if any. It is basic but most important & simple test in identifying major cardiac issues.
  • 2 d echocardiography & color Doppler
    Major non- invasive test that gives detailed information regarding heart pumping, valves & heart functioning.
  • Stress test/TMT
    Patient having normal baseline ECG but symptoms of heart disease stress test help in identifying blockage in heart vessels.
  • Angiography
    Patients having confirmatory changes in above test with co-relating symptoms needs coronary angiography as definitive test to look for heart blockages.
